Hot Property

It started over a bucket of oily water and some clay:  During the first week of July WildAid has been able to conjour up their latest magic show - Hot Property!  Organising and attending 6 conference days in South Cheshire and Accrington is something David Copperfield would consider an illusion!

The Lancashire Schools Sustainability Forum was well attended by 41 Primary and Secondary schools. This vibrant and informative conference is a chance for many organisations to deliver workshops and attend marketplace activities. WildAid?  We did both!  Links with schools were made through engaging workshops where children carried out wildlife experiments - no, not experiments on wildlife!  It is quite possible that we engaged with several hundred children over the 2 day conference. We look forward to working with some of the schools in the new term.

Wildaid also attended, with our RSPCA hat on, Primary College Day, at South Cheshire College, Crewe. Well, it's actually Primary College Days - 4 days of delivering wildlife awareness workshops to over 140 pupils. Armed with ear defenders since the amazing architecture of the building encourages quite a bit of volume when several hundred children are present, this awe inspiring gives youngsters a variety of learning experiences, many of which aren’t normally available to them, and also gives children from a variety of schools and backgrounds the opportunity to play together and have fun.  Our workshops achieved 5 star evaluation throughout!

So it's nearly back to normality......................nearly we have several more school workshops to deliver before July is out.................

"It's all about encouraging people to participate and learn about the natural world through hands on discovery."
